On Form

What fascinates me is the film’s almost microscopic examination of human emotion. It confronts feelings that are uncomfortable, painful, at times even disturbing, and it does not look away. What matters to me in a film is not its genre so much as the emotions it allows me to discover. I am especially drawn to artists who reveal emotional experiences I had never recognized before, or had never found the language to describe. This is one of those films.
